New Year, New Goals, New Ways — #Mindfulness2022!

“Without a dream there is no reality” [Tweet This]

Day-in day-out we live 86,400 seconds and take around 22,000 breaths.

We also check our phones on average 221 times a day. Perhaps read one or more of the four million blogs uploaded every 24 hours? Or fire off one of those 7130 tweets that are sent every second?

That’s how it was in 2021, and that’s how it will be in 2022.

But this year I want to learn to sit in the mud i.e. to accept that sometimes you can’t fix everything and you just have to sit in it and get through it.

And I also want to “Burn Bright, Not Out”, so what to do?

First Though, A Little Background

Aristotle introduced the concept of self-healing, but the term self-help itself dates to just 1859, when the Scottish reformer Samuel Smiles (yes, real person, real name) published his book which went on to be a contemporary best seller, simply called — ‘Self Help’.

In fact, it sold 20,000 copies in 1859, and over 250,000 copies by the time of his death five decades…
